Sir Puppeus Maximus is living life to its fullest, and enjoying being the center of attention not only for his mama Charlie, but also for the whole Lapointe family! He loves snuggling with his mama, he loves family read-aloud time, he loves adventuring across the wide expanse and green grass of the Back Yard, he being held, and he loves when we talk baby-talk to him! Life is GOOD for this little guy!

Charlie's Wild Thing!  6.11.25

When we found out through ultrasound that Charlie was expecting a single puppy, we prepared ourselves for a long labor and a possible c-section. Instead, Charlie presented us with her perfect little boy right on schedule, without any extra difficulty, and has been caring for him brilliantly! 
Sir Puppeus Maximus is named because of his size and growth (12 ounces at birth and eating like a champion!) but his nickname comes from one of our favorite read-aloud books. "Where The Wild Things Are", by Maurice Sendak, offers a great theme for all the puppy photoshoots - and Henry is eager to read to little Max every day!!

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder. We were kept updated about our place on the waitlist, and photos were shared once our litter was born.
