Just like that, half of our time with Clover's puppies has already flown past! We are just delighting in these puppy days, enjoying all of the tiny little "firsts", and enjoying introducing the puppies to real life in a real family.
Beaver - new name Sandy and going home to New York, NY!
Buffalo - new name is Atlas Potato and he's going home to Norwich, CT!
Crystal - new name is Hazel, going home to Wilmington, MA! 
Diamond - her new name is Josie and she's going home to Warwick, RI!
Flower - new name is Penuche (like the fudge!) and she'll be going home to Milford, MA!
Maggie - new name is Coral and she's going home to North Chelmsford, MA!

Clover's First Litter! August 14, 2025

We are so thrilled to welcome Clover to motherhood! As the daughter of our beloved Lilac, we have been eagerly anticipating this next generation of gorgeous apricot puppies, and Clover certainly did not disappoint. The first pup was a surprise to Clover, and she wasn't sure what to make of him! But once she had all her babies around her, her instincts kicked right in. She has been very conscientious about keeping her babies clean and they are all growing beautifully. 

As our very first litter born in Arkansas, we decided to name this litter after key landmarks of the Natural State. So please welcome the AR Litter!

Female 1 - Maggie - Mount Magazine State Park is where Zack & Laura were married!
Female 2 - Crystal - Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is not far from us
Female 3 - Flower - Flowering Dogwood is a very popular and beautiful tree in our area
Female 4 - Diamond - Crater of Diamonds State Park where more than 35,000 diamonds have been found by visitors
Male 1 - Buffalo - Buffalo National River was the first National River and is one of the few undammed rivers in the Lower 48 States
Male 2 - Beaver - Beaver Lake is renowned for its excellent bass fishing and is a beautiful landmark in our area

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home.
