Ready for Forever! 9.14.25

Mindy's "Miniature" puppies are still pretty little, but they're grown up enough that they're ready to embark on their next great adventures with their forever families! Several of the pups are spending a few more days with us and we're all delighting in the gorgeous weather and puppies at such an engaging age!

Families Falling for them! 8.30.25

Mindy's puppies are so fun and funny these days! Lots of playful wrestling, intrepid exploring, and serious snuggling. The pups are strongly taking after their mama and are on a petite growth track that has us estimating their adult weights all at under 20 pounds. We've started introducing the pups to their new families and they're charming each other all around!
Peanut - new name Coco, going home to New York, NY!
Smidgen - going home to Danielson, CT and big brother DH Cockapoo Finley!
Teeny - black female, now called Pepper and heading to her new home in Somerville, MA!
Itty-Bitty - going home to Hampton, NH with the new name Piper!
Nugget - going home to Long Valley, NJ with the new name Moose!
Small Fry - now Cocoa Bean, going home to Newfane, VT and big brother Lightning (also from Dutch Haven!)
Munchkin - now Lily, going home to Wellesley, MA and big sister Izzie (also from Dutch Haven!)

Looking Around at 2 Weeks! 8.2.25

As the puppies just opened their eyes this week, they often alternate between looking sleepy, or confused, or imperious!
Just a reminder: The "Miniatures" theme for this litter refers to the names, not to the expected size of the pups! Most of these puppies are expected to mature in the 18-22 pound range.
Meet Itty-Bitty! Female, chocolate and white parti-color. Pink collar - 12.6 ounces!
Meet Munchkin! Female, chocolate with white accents on her rear toes. Purple collar - 15.9 ounces!
Meet Nugget! Male, chocolate with white accents on his chest, chin, and rear toes. Blue collar - 1 pound, 4.4 ounces!
Meet Peanut! Female, chocolate with white accents on her chest. Lime collar - 13.2 ounces
Meet Small Fry! Male, chocolate with white accents on his rear toes. Tan collar - 1 pound, 2.5 ounces!
Meet Smidgen! Male, black with white accents on his rear toes. Green collar - 1 pound, 3.3 ounces!
Meet Teeny! Female, black with white accents on her chest and rear toes. Gray collar - 9.4 ounces!

Mindy's Mini Miracles! July 20, 2025

Every new life is a miracle, and getting to participate in welcoming new little lives to the world is one of the wonders and pleasures of what we do! Mindy was in steady labor all day, and once the pups started arriving things went FAST! Seven puppies in just over 3 hours - what a champion mama! Mom and pups are doing really well, and pups are gaining weight fast. We love seeing those satisfied sleepers, silky coats, and nice round bellies that mean the milk is flowing plentifully.

The name debate has raged over this litter - some factions rooting for Appetizers, some for Solfege Syllables (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti),  and others lobbying for Encanto. The final decision was MINIATURES!

First born - black female, 7.6 oz. - TEENY (gray collar)
Second born - chocolate female, 7.6 oz. - PEANUT (lime collar)
Third born - black male, 8.2 oz. - SMIDGEN (green collar)
Fourth born - chocolate male, 8.8 oz. - NUGGET (blue collar)
Fifth born - chocolate male, 8.5 oz. - SMALL FRY (brown collar)
Sixth born - chocolate female, 7.5 oz. - MUNCHKIN (purple collar)
Final born - chocolate & white parti female, 7.5 oz. - ITTY-BITTY (pink collar)

What Our Clients Are Saying

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. And we do love her so very much. Fondly, Sandy, Kittery, ME

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dutch Haven dogs. Our pup has been such a delight for the short few months we’ve had her. Everything about this process was amazing. Communication, answering questions, supplies, lists. Not to mention the love and care these pups get before we get to bring them home. My girl is an angel, she loves people. She’s friendly, she’s sweet. I couldn’t be happier. ~Heather, Eliot, ME

We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. And I was impressed by the evaluation that Lydia performed on each puppy to determine their personalities. I’ve also loved all the photos while we were waiting for our precious puppy named Birdie! This is by far the best breeder experience we’ve ever had and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a beautiful and well adjusted snd well loved puppy! ~Courtney, Dallas, TX

I am forever grateful to Dutch Haven Dogs for uniting me with my Gemma (Santa Clara) back in 2015. From our first conversation, I knew Dutch Haven not only had the knowledge of the Cockapoo breed, but also had the passion for what they do. They raise their pups surrounded by children who nurture them with all the love and cuddles! My Gemma is the smartest, most loyal dog, and she remains by my side as my best friend. Thank you Dutch Haven for breeding dogs with good health, temperment, and beauty. Huge shout out to you from us in CT!!! Christie, North Haven, CT

Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder. We were kept updated about our place on the waitlist, and photos were shared once our litter was born. My dog is very healthy and happy and I credit a lot of that to Dutch Haven being so reputable and caring of their dogs. When I get another dog, it will be from Dutch Haven! Thank you and hello from Dublin! Kristin, Dover, NH
