Five weeks tomorrow, Thursday, 9/27

Yeah for a beautiful Fall day!  Squirtle and Eevee loved exploring the big outdoors right alongside my boys.  Nothing cuter than a little pup hopping about after leaves blowing by.........

One week (+ 4 days) and oh so chubby, Tuesday, 9/4

Puppies have an interesting power over little boys. Boys......who can be so crazy, wild, playful can change so quickly when entrusted to "play" with the pups.  As these pics show, they take gentleness (and snuggling) quite seriously. Tyler, Devin, Drew and Reid love making the pups part of their day and including them in all they do (reading, looking at pokemon cards, snuggling, magnatile building, etc.). Oh the memories being made.

Almost one week, Thursday, 8/30

Bella's babes are growing and gaining weight wonderfully.  With a small litter, these two are never in want for nourishment (momma milk). Drew and Reid LOVE that there are pups in our home again and are always eager to hold "their" puppies.  :-)

Name theme chosen..........

Pokemon it is!  My boys are completely smitten with the characters and love to learn and explore all the characters and the powers they have.  They also like to "play" pokemon, where they run around the house and yard pretending they are one of the characters.  Name selection was a bit difficult (needing to narrow down all their favorites to only 2).
We have:
   Squirtle (turtle) - male, black & white pup.
   Eevee (deer) - female, chocolate & white pup.

Bella's a momma (again)!  Friday, 8/24

Bella welcomed her last litter (2 pups - 1 boy, 1 girl) via c-section.  Momma did fantastic and is right back to bounding about with her "sisters" when out and about, though she still prefers to snuggle with her babies in the comfort of her whelping box.  Bella is an amazing, doting momma always caring for her babes so tenderly.

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder. We were kept updated about our place on the waitlist, and photos were shared once our litter was born.
