Anton
AKC Miniature Poodle Anton is Nico's little "brother" and lives in Lydia's parents' home, though he officially belongs to my youngest sister, Alee. Nico held himself aloof when Anton first arrived as a punk little puppy, but now the two enjoy chasing the same squeaky ball, and practice doing tricks together for the same treats. Anton loves the lake life and enjoys trips out in the kayak. He is enthusiastic about all of the grandchildren who come to visit and has a very mature sense of how to be gentle with the littlest ones. Anton passes along his spunky but gentle personality, as well as his smarts and dashing good looks to his chocolate and parti-colored offspring!

Paddington

Every sidekick needs a superhero, which is why Paddington and GrandpaSir make such a great team! An AKC Miniature Poodle who tips the scales at 15 pounds, Paddy idolizes his big "brothers" Anton and Nico. He goes to work with GrandpaSir every day and makes sure everyone who walks through the door has a fuzzy day! He adores riding in the truck and is always up for a ride to...anywhere! Paddy's favorite toy is his bacon-flavored Nylabone, and he likes to play fetch, too. Paddington has a perfect Poodle prance - his gait is fun to watch because he just exudes confidence and fun.

Checkers

Paddington's younger brother Checkers has officially joined Dutch Haven! Checkers is an AKC Miniature Poodle and is the newest member of our family-friends Zack and Laura’s home. He likes you to believe he’s bashful, but don’t be fooled, he is adventurous and loves affectionate attention. He also loves his older brother, Mitty, a rescue Brittney Spaniel. They have quickly become inseparable and do everything together. They sleep in the same bed and love going for rides in the truck together. (Checkers claims the best seat!) So long as his big brother Mitty is there, Checkers loves taking walks, dashing through fall leaves, and lounging by the fireplace. Checkers is a Canine Good Citizen (AKC CGC) and has also earned his AKC Community Canine award.

Nico

Nicodemus, AKC Miniature Poodle, was our handsome stud muffin from 2013-2020. He's been an important part of life at Lydia's parents' home. He is very smart and friendly and has a soft curly coat, with a pom-pom tail irresistible to the many grandkids! Nico is on the big side for a miniature poodle, weighing about 17 pounds, which gives us puppies who are a great size for family activities, in the 20-25 pound range. Nico's favorite toy is a rubber chicken, though he's always up for a quick game of keep-away with his squeaky ball! He goes to work at Dad T's cable shop several days a week, enjoys tooling around the lake in the boat, likes to bark hello to the Bichon who lives down the street, and spends a lot of time watching the neighborhood cats and squirrels from the picture window. Retired from breeding now, Nico has left an amazing legacy of smart, healthy, happy pups all over New England and beyond!
