Family Pick Ups This Coming Saturday, April 23

Charlotte's pups will be 8 weeks this coming Saturday, April 28 and will head home with their forever families.  The pups are enjoying playtime outdoors, eating "big kid food" (puppy kibble) as well as playing and exploring.  One of their favorite things to do is go down the little slide in their kiddie pool......yeah, it's ADORABLE!  :-)

Two+ Weeks Old, March 21

Charlotte's pups are a little over two weeks and they have begun to lift themselves to standing, take their first wobbly steps and have opened their eyes.  Charlotte continues to be a very good momma, always sitting next to us on the couch when we hold her babes.

One Week Old, March 10

Charlotte's pups are a week old and doing fantastic!  Pups have been eating well and gaining weight, getting cute little puppy bellies.  Charlotte is attentive and gentle, not only to her babes but to all the doting visitors as well.

Name theme for this litter is from the Betsy-Tacy Series, books much adored by Shirley's daughters Deborah and Martha.

Charlotte was a very thoughtful mom, delivering her pups on a Saturday morning.  :-)  Shirley and Fenton were by her side to support and encourage the new momma as she delivered her first litter. By 7:50AM momma was resting with her new babes........5 beautiful black pups (3 female, 2 male).

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder.
