Seven weeks old! Monday, March 9
The puppies had a wonderfully busy day today - starting with some baths, they travelled to the vet and passed their health certification exam with flying colors, and after a quick nap they got to play outside in the gorgeous almost-spring weather! We tried to fit in some photo time, but the puppies were quite distracted chasing leaves and finding little sticks to play with. And of course, the kids' sandals are the ultimate prize!
Little John (new name is Basje!) is a bundle of fluffy fun! He weighed in at 5 lbs. 6 oz. today, and we are all in love with his teddy bear features. He is a gentle big boy, and loves to play!
Robin Hood (new name is Splash!) Our little buff fluff-ball, Robin Hood weighs 5 lbs. 2 oz. He would much rather give kisses than pose for the camera, and of course we don't mind that at all!
Friar Tuck (new name is Gryffindor!) Our dear Friar Tuck is such a beautiful apricot boy who weighs 5 pounds even! His distinctive white markings make him easy to photograph, and his sweet nature keeps him snuggly even when distractions are all around! He loves to chase his siblings (and the kids) and then come back for extra cuddles!
Maid Marian (new name is Freya!) Our sweet little apricot lady, Maid Marian is a delicate 4 lbs. 3 oz. Her smooth coat accentuates her beautiful features. She was the first to discover that sticks can be pounced upon and vanquished!
Merrie Pups of Sherwood! Wednesday, February 19
These puppies are so eager to meet their new families this coming weekend!
Little John: Little John (wearing a yellow bow - but barely visible) is living up to the size of his namesake, tipping the scales at 3 lbs. 5 oz. He loves his Mommy Cupcake, and he is big enough to investigate the kibbles in her dish. The puppies don't have all their teeth yet, but soon they'll be ready to try their own softened puppy chow!
Robin Hood: Robin Hood (green bow) is our cute little mischief-maker! He has had a growth spurt, and is now weighing 3 lbs. 1 oz. He would much rather go exploring than sit nicely for pictures, but he loves to be snuggled!
Maid Marian: Maid Marian (pink bows) loves being held and petted, but is also athletic and was trying out her climbing skills on the letter blocks! Her soft smooth fur is irresistible! She is a little more petite than her brothers, at 2 lbs. 12 oz.
Friar Tuck: Friar Tuck (red bow) is a sturdy little fellow, weighing 3 lbs. 2 oz. He was the first to discover how to open the doggie door on the whelping box, and sticks his head out to watch the action. He's a favorite of Barbie's 2-year-old, who thinks his name is "Fire Truck" (both names sound the same in his world!)
Leaps & Bounds! Monday, February 10
The puppies are growing in leaps and bounds. They all opened their eyes last week, and they're starting to practice walking around on shaky legs. Yesterday they even started pouncing on each other in play!
Little John and Friar Tuck are both curly-haired, while Maid Marian and Robin Hood have a smoother coat.
All the puppies love their Mommy Cupcake, and they're quite comfortable with regular visits from Aunty Buttercup. They are extremely cuddly and love to watch family movies with the kids!

Cupcake once again made a wonderful match with Nico and delivered her litter with typical ease. These puppies seem especially smart and figured out how to nurse right away.
It's a Sherwood Forest theme!
