Summer puppies have the privilege of spending lots of warm days getting to know the outdoor world! Enjoy these candid shots of the puppies getting to experience grass for the first time with their friends from Buttercup's litter. Welcome to the 5 Little Puppers! Tuesday, June 15
Cupcake delivered 5 healthy little puppies into the world in her calm, comfortable style during the quiet early morning hours. An experienced mama, she's very attentive and keeps her little brood clean with her warm tongue, and they're all growing plump and happy with her abundant milk supply.
Growing up, we sisters loved reading (and rereading) the books our dad handed down from his childhood. "The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew" was one of these, and provided the inspiration for naming these little puppers. I actually just now discovered that there is an old movie based on the books - I'm going to have to look that up for a movie night soon!

#2 Girl - Belle Pupper: medium apricot, white on chest and forehead; birth weight 7.8 oz
#3 Boy - Thai Pupper: dark medium apricot, large white patch on chest, small spot on forehead, tiny bit on toes; birth weight 7.1 oz
#4 Boy - Ghost Pupper: very pale apricot, some white on chest but hard to tell; birth weight 6.8 oz
#5 Girl - Carolina (Reaper) Pupper: light/medium apricot, some very faint white markings, barely-there forehead star; birth weight 7.7 oz
