8 Weeks Tomorrow, April 19

Not sure how we are already here (8 weeks?!).  The pups will be headed to their fur-ever homes starting tomorrow. We had their last photo shoot today, so the pups could show off their adorable little faces and their super cute bandanas from Sue at cooperlovessophie.com.  🐶😍

Happy Easter, April 12

Easter was a day for on-line services, egg 🐣 hunts, bouncing on the trampoline, a family hike and of course playing with pups.
Picture
Pool full of cuteness! The pups love playtime in the pool (which usually begins at 2.5-3 weeks). Pups left to right - Grumblegard, Dak, Winger, Burple and Layla.

However, as you can tell - by almost 7 weeks they see themselves as too cool for the pool (and much prefer to romp around the house with us).

Time for Rest and Snuggles, April 11

After playtime outside and some lunch, the pups were tuckered and ready for a nap. Tyler and Reid wanted to be in with the pups and snuggle (though Dak seemd to still have a little bit of energy/interest in playing with Reid). Eevee and Noel's pups now closer in size, play together and sleep together.

Just Another Day, April 10

Social distancing from friends, families and out-of-the home activities is made so much better with pups! ❤️🐶

6+ Weeks, April 7

The pups are loving the ☀️ and so are we!  This weather has allowed the pups to have plenty of outdoor playtime to romp around and explore.  While outdoors they are exposed to many new sights, sounds and surfaces to work on proper socializing. They've walked on grass, leaves, dirt, rocks, wood pallets and concrete.  They're experiencing new sounds - birds chirping in the trees, peeper frogs peeping in the pond, music on an outdoor speaker (ok, not new - I have music playing for them all day 😉), kids bouncing on the trampoline next to one of their yards, cars driving by and neighborhood dogs barking.  They are also working on their coping skills from environmental changes - balloons hung by string blowing in the breeze, plastic bags crinkling in the wind, sand trucks rolling by gently (Reid and Drew help roll their toys by for the pups to watch and once comfortable, follow along), and balls rolling by (Ty and Devin assist by gently passing a soccer ball back and forth), a vacuum cleaning near their pen, etc.  Socializing your pup doesn't just mean them hanging out with other dogs, it means exposing them to as many "new" and "different" experiences as possible. These guys are having a great start to their socializing.  👍

3 Weeks+, March 19

Eevee's pups are just like their momma - laid back and sweet!  Their eyes are open, and they have begun to respond to our voice and are have begun showing interest in toys.  We are so thankful to have these sweet pups to play and cuddle with. I got a couple videos too (see below) - of them starting to move about, play with toys and explore.  Soon they'll be bounding about!  ❤️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶❤️

Playtime and Exploring, March 20

1 Week+, March 4

Eevee's pups are as easy going and chill as their mom.  Their favorite things to do are snuggle with momma and eat (as you can see, ha!).

Hello Puppies, February 24

Eevee's pups are here! Momma delivered just as easy and gentle as her disposition. Destiny had put the girls into their kennels for their dinner and walked out of the room to check on her dinner. Destiny walked back into the living room to check and see if momma Eevee was eating only to notice that Eevee had delivered her first pup! Momma and pup were just hanging out so peacefully together, Destiny almost didn't believe it! They were quickly moved to their whelping box (where a comfy heat lamp and soft blanket were waiting). Eevee then delivered 4 more beautiful and robust pups. There are 4 males and 1 female.

Name theme for this litter will be based on the characters from Reid's (Destiny's youngest) favorite show: Rescue Riders. We have Grumblegard (buff male), Burple (apricot male), Winger (apricot male), Layla (apricot female) and Dak (light apricot male).

What Our Clients Are Saying

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. And we do love her so very much. Fondly, Sandy, Kittery, ME

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dutch Haven dogs. Our pup has been such a delight for the short few months we’ve had her. Everything about this process was amazing. Communication, answering questions, supplies, lists. Not to mention the love and care these pups get before we get to bring them home. My girl is an angel, she loves people. She’s friendly, she’s sweet. I couldn’t be happier. ~Heather, Eliot, ME

We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. And I was impressed by the evaluation that Lydia performed on each puppy to determine their personalities. I’ve also loved all the photos while we were waiting for our precious puppy named Birdie! This is by far the best breeder experience we’ve ever had and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a beautiful and well adjusted snd well loved puppy! ~Courtney, Dallas, TX

I am forever grateful to Dutch Haven Dogs for uniting me with my Gemma (Santa Clara) back in 2015. From our first conversation, I knew Dutch Haven not only had the knowledge of the Cockapoo breed, but also had the passion for what they do. They raise their pups surrounded by children who nurture them with all the love and cuddles! My Gemma is the smartest, most loyal dog, and she remains by my side as my best friend. Thank you Dutch Haven for breeding dogs with good health, temperment, and beauty. Huge shout out to you from us in CT!!! Christie, North Haven, CT

Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder. We were kept updated about our place on the waitlist, and photos were shared once our litter was born. My dog is very healthy and happy and I credit a lot of that to Dutch Haven being so reputable and caring of their dogs. When I get another dog, it will be from Dutch Haven! Thank you and hello from Dublin! Kristin, Dover, NH
