8 Weeks Old! June 27
Lacey’s My Fair Lady puppies are almost ready to go to their new fur-ever homes! All three are going to homes with big brother/sister dogs, 2 of whom are Dutch Haven cockapoos. We have had beautiful weather to take them outside multiple times a day and they waste no time launching into a full sprint when placed on our grass. Judging by the way they play with their aunties and Uncle Angus, without a doubt this trio will wear themselves out regularly romping around with their new families! It’s always a bittersweet goodbye - we have bonded with each of them and their unique personalities, but we couldn’t be happier with the excited, loving families they are going to. We will stay in touch, Morey (Professor Higgins), Teddy (Colonel Pickering) and Lizzie (Eliza Doolittle).
The puppies all enjoyed their 8-week checkup at Broadview Animal Hospital!
Six weeks have flown past! June 12
What a joy these three pups have been to our family. No puppy-raising experience is ever the same as another. We have had the most beautiful weather for taking these puppies outside and lots of friends of all ages have come over to hold and play with them, ensuring that during this critical socialization period they are getting acclimated to the handling and talking methods of various ages.
Our alfalfa pellet potty training has progressed quickly — no accidents whatsoever in their sleeping area! The next two weeks are busy, busy for us all! They’ll be weaning, having more playtime with the big dogs, go on some car rides, see the vet, and enjoy some introductory grooming and training sessions.

Three Weeks Old! May 22
The day the "My Fair Lady" pups turned 3 weeks, we witnessed all 3 get all 4 feet under them. We’ve now entered the season of rapid social growth, since besides toddling, their eyes are opened and they are responding to noise. Mama Lacey is still with them almost 24/7, with breaks for human time and time outside, and the pups are still exclusively nourished by her. We start them on daily classical music at this stage (based on the study cited below), but I’m adding in some theme songs for them (or maybe that’s for the humans in the household) 🤷🏻♀️ Enjoy!

Welcome little ones, May 1, 2019
We welcomed Lacey’s second litter with Nico this week! Arriving early Wednesday morning on May 1, Lacey delivered them rapidly and with ease (I guess it’s easy for us to say that, right?!). The puppies immediately showed vibrant health and never dropped below their birth weight, being nurtured by mama’s colostrum and quickly-incoming milk. Lacey is never without exuberant joy, even in the moments and days after birth when we know her body had a lot of adjustments to make. She is attentive to her puppies, responding to their every peep. If she could talk, we think she’d say, “I love this mothering thing, every minute of it.”
