5 Weeks Pup Pix! Wednesday, July 29
Lacey's super soft and sweet #fishinpups are doing so well! We started them on treats this week so we can begin shaping them to treats and the clicker. Their ears perk up when we announce mealtimes and we are proud of their early potty training. With all the beautiful weather, they've been able to be in the arms of many children and visitors in our backyard, showing their thanks for the attention and ear rubs with little kisses up human chins. The adoration they elicit is marked by giggling kids and busy grown-ups who were "just going to stop in real quick" but stay an hour! We couldn't have summer puppies in this kind of heat without kiddie pool time, too (and especially not pups with this hashtag!) so that's coming up soon, too!

Eyes Open, Eager to See the World! Monday, July 13
At three weeks old, the Fishin’ pups all have their feet under them and have been clumsily exploring their small corner of the McLaughlin house. We introduced a potty area to their whelping box and they are all using it accurately! This stage is so fun because Momma Lacey is still the predominant caretaker, but the puppies are starting to show interest in us humans, too!
This week we’ll start revving up the socialization process, with lots of friends and cousins coming over for puppy parties! We’ll also transfer them to a larger pen with more space to practice walking and playing.

Gone Fishin' Monday, June 22
Lacey's pups came steadily over the course of Monday evening, her due date. Lacey took to nursing and snuggling her five beautiful babies with the same happy good-naturedness that she applies to all of life!
