It's a new year, and Lilac's babies are adding new "new's" to their lives every day! From playing out in the green grass on a warm, sunny day, to taking a short (carried) walk on a brisk, windy day; new toys and textures to explore; meeting our friendly family cat and our self-absorbed chickens; there's so much the wide world has to offer, and the puppies are soaking it up with great delight. We can't wait to introduce them to their new families this weekend!

Sight, Mobility, and other accomplishments
12.21.22: Lilac's puppies opened their eyes to a whole new way of seeing the world last week, and with this added sense they are now toddling around, learning to use the litter box, and investigating everything that comes near them with great interest. Mama Lilac doesn't spend all her time in the whelping pen with them anymore, but she's never far off, and she's still producing plenty of milk for her crew. Their teeth started breaking through this week and they've already started nosing around at mom's kibble! Meanwhile, we did decide to name them for Bluey's friends, so without further ado, please welcome the #Bluey puppies!

Giving Thanks! 11.26.22
After having the chance to celebrate Thanksgiving over several days with family and friends this year, Lilac gave us the cherry on top of all the pie! Saturday night she bravely welcomed 7 beautiful babies, fueled by strong mother-instincts and some morsels of turkey.
There are 3 boys and 4 girls in the litter, all varying shades of apricot. I thought we should name them for the 7 dwarves, but our kids are lobbying to continue the Bluey show theme (from Cocoa's current litter). I also thought the 7 wonders of the world would make a pretty neat theme! We'll see which comes out the winner with this litter. For the time being, the pups are enjoying the warmth of their dedicated mama and busily growing fat and sleek!
