Almost ready! Going home soon...! May 13
Maisy and Nico's BritLit puppies are so close to going home to their new families. This week has included a perfect vet check appointment, a long car ride, and lots of outside playtime. These puppies were all extremely responsive with their first training exercises -- "manding", sitting, and coming when called were quickly learned by all! They are on an excellent routine with their eating, playing, and sleeping, and very reliable about using the bathroom in the designated areas. We are so proud of you all and know you will bring so much joy to your new families! Stay in touch!
Charlotte - will now be answering to Charlotte Maisy in Chelmsford, MA!
Arthur - going home to Holden, MA with the new name Captain!
Jane - is keeping her birth name and soon to become a resident of Concord, MA!
Emily - newly named Luna Sky, she's going to be a Brooklyn girl!
Clive - will continue to be known as Clive to his new family in Weybridge, VT!
What a Wonderful World! April 22
Maisy's BritLit puppies are increasingly active and taking in the sights, sounds, and smells around them. They've reached the major developmental milestone of making it through the night without nursing. None snubbed their noses at their first licks of puppy slurry, but baths were in order not long after because it takes some practice to learn where all 4 feet are and that shallow dishes can flip over with just one hasty, misplaced step. They get to meet their new families this weekend and mark the start of the 21 day countdown until take-home day!

Busy BritLit Babies! April 8
Maisy’s adorable BritLit pups are growing by leaps and bounds. Maisy still spends most of her day nursing and doting on her pups. Their eyes are wide open now, and they’re getting their feet under them. In short, they’re ready to explore the world!
As breeders, we are constantly coming up with creative ways to ensure that our puppies grow up to be cuddly and confident adults. Every day, each puppy gets an individual cuddle session, and the litter is exposed to a new visual or tactile experience every day. In addition to this, the puppies are now reliably using their alfalfa litter box and keeping their bed clean and dry!

Jane: 2.23 lbs. Named for the witty Jane Austen, this little one takes after her mother, Maisy, being lively and intelligent!
Clive: 2.20 lbs. C.S. Lewis is one of our family’s favorite authors. His books are imaginative and insightful, and we expect that little Clive will grow into a cuddly, curious puppy, ready for adventures of all kinds!
Charlotte: 1.92 lbs. Charlotte Bronte, the author of the coming-of-age novel Jane Eyre, was also the third child in a large family! Known for being petite and thoughtful, this pup has much in common with her namesake!
Emily: 1.90 lbs. Emily Bronte was—appropriately—the younger sister of Charlotte Bronte! Our Emily is the smallest in her litter, but just as lively and adventurous as the others!
Sir Arthur: 2.25 lbs. Although the youngest of this litter, Arthur is by no means the smallest! He also boasts the silkiest of coats. He is named for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: doctor, knight, and creator of the infamous Sherlock Holmes character!
Spring Puppies! Saturday, March 21
Maisy has done it again! After 60 days of being pregnant (normal is 63, but her trend is to birth 3 days early), her black tuxedo pups arrived Saturday night in a textbook-style delivery with no surprises or concerns, which we’re always thankful for! These five puppies look very much alike, all with nice white chins, a long white neck/chest stripe, and quite a few white paws.
Feedback from Maisy’s past puppies often sounds like this: “She’s so alert and attentive.” “He’s the star in his puppy kindergarten class.” “He’s so smart!” This litter will be starting potty training at 2.5 - 3 weeks, clicker training & recall at 4 weeks, puppy “parties” with mental challenges at 5 weeks, and so much more! But in the meantime, Maisy is doing what she does so well: lining them up around her belly for round the clock feedings and keeping them licked clean.
Since our 16 year old, Tori, has been in a British Literature Class this year, and it’s one of her favorite classes, we’ll be calling the puppies by these names until their new families choose new ones:
“Jane” for Jane Austin, author of Pride and Prejudice 10.0 oz.
“Clive” for C.S. Lewis, author of the Narnia series (his middle name is Staples) 8.6 oz.
“Charlotte” for Charlotte Bronte, author of Jane Eyre 8.3 oz.
“Emily” for Emily Bronte, Charlotte’s sister, author of Wuthering Heights 8.5 oz.
“Arthur” Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes 9.5 oz.
