Time Flies When You're Having Fun! December 1

It’s almost time to launch the #IceCreamPups off to their new homes. Week by week, their world has gotten bigger — from the warm whelping box, to the exercise pen, then to an even larger exercise pen, to playtimes in the small yard, and finally to playtimes in the big yard. Soon their world will be full of new smells and sounds, but oh what wonderfully loving homes they will be for every puppy here! They are so excited to be going home to their new families in just about one week. They'll be able to share in all the fun of the Christmas festivities and will make every activity sweeter!

Milly, you did it again. Anton, thank you, too, for your contribution! Aunties to #IceCreamPups, you grasshopper-jumped around the silly pups like pros and kept your cool with all their boisterous toddler antics. You all played a critical role in giving these puppies a solid start.
The #IceCreamPups were having fun with the "ugly sweater contest" until they realized that they're too cute to win any kind of ugly contest! Fortunately, they know they're all winners because every day is a beautiful day in their books!
Minty - newly named Lucy! Going home to Gilmanton, NH!
Kahlua - will be known as Lily to her new family - including a Cocker Spaniel "sister" - in Wells, ME!
Rocky - can't wait to go home with his new family (including a Puggle!) in Peabody, MA!
Toffee - looking forward to taking up full-time residence as Hazel with her family in Providence, RI!
Cookie - going to call Marblehead, MA her new home!
Oreo - her new family is in Amherst, NH and she can't wait to join them!

Hello Cuties, Tuesday, October 13

Milly brought six healthy puppies into our world during the early morning of Tuesday, October 13th. She delivered them with nice, even spacing of approximately 30 minutes apart between each pup. They are all doing exceptionally well. At just 3 days old, they all had gained 50% of their birth weight. “Weigh” to go, Milly and puppies!

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home.
