All home now

We had a wonderful eight weeks with these precious pups. Now they are all settled in with their new families, but I wanted to post a few pictures from their last days with us because they're too cute not to share.

Lots of big changes - Saturday, February 25

The puppies have reached some important milestones as they prepare for grownup lives with their new families. They are almost completely weaned and don't spend much time with their mom anymore. They are learning to use newspaper for potty breaks and discovering the joys of a variety of toys. And today they started practicing using stairs!

Comfort food! Friday, February 10

'Tis the season for comfort foods - soups and warm rolls and oatmeal cookies...and for Jack and Matthew - Peanutbutter and Jelly sandwiches, of course! We've had a lot of time indoors these past few days with the pellet stove humming and the puppies snuggled in our laps.

Snowday! Tuesday, January 24

We enjoyed a nice quiet day at home today thanks to a New England sleet and snow storm. Of course, for these puppies, so far every day of their lives has been a nice quiet day at home! These puppies are similar to Nabisco's other babies; brilliant, almost coppery in color, wavy rather than curly coats, and very sleek and well-fed. Jack asked to name the puppies after his favorite food.
Peanut Butter: third born, dark apricot male
Jelly: first born, dark apricot female (and overachiever - already starting to open her eyes!)
Fluff: second born, large dark apricot male

Nabisco's Puppies Are Here! Friday, January 13

Friday the 13th was a lucky day here at Dutch Haven! Nabisco had a beautiful litter of two boys and one girl. Mom and pups are doing great, and as always, Nabisco's rich milk is fattening up the babies in record time! The pups are staying nice and toasty under the heat lamp and in the cozy warmth of our new pellet stove. In between nursing the pups, Nabisco is already introducing them to her favorite toys - we keep finding her collection of stuffed animals in the whelping box with the family :-).
