Puppies and Pinecones—almost 8 Weeks old!
Just a few more days before the Hero's Guide puppies head off for their next adventure! They have many absolutely wonderful families eagerly awaiting the arrival of their furry forever friends. Although we're always a bit sad to see them go, we can also see how ready these pups are to have a family all to themselves, and of course, seeing the joy these pups bring to their families makes the bittersweet parting far sweeter!
These pups are smart, sweet, and ready to take on this next part of their lives with gentleness, confidence, and many, many puppy kisses. We see so much of Princess' mild, ever-loving temperament, and combined with Nico's poise and intelligence, we truly could not envision a more well-rounded litter!
The pups had a blast playing in a brand-new part of the backyard today, finding special delight in the vast dispersion of pinecones! We watched carefully to make sure they didn't ingest anything, but boy are they cute!

5 weeks old! January 9
Princess’ lovely litter is growing by leaps and bounds. And we don’t just mean in size — their senses are being exercised daily when exposed to dozens of new things in our puppy curriculum. We were able to get them out in the snow one day with Maisy’s MBSPups and some of our other grown dogs. They’re lapping up their milk supplement and munching on soaked kibble as well. Princess still spends a lot of time with them and has stayed in tip-top health while nursing this rather large litter. With their shiny, dark eyes, they gaze up at us adoringly and then gently roll back, offering their soft bellies for a rub. It won’t be long before Selection Day!

Welcome to the World! December 4
Princess surprised us with an early delivery early on the morning of Friday, December 4th. The McLaughlin girls gathered around her whelping box to be there for her in case she needed any assistance, but she did not! All eight of her puppies are on the fast track of growth and exhibiting excellent strength and mobility.
This litter is named after The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom book series by Christopher Healy. The four older McLaughlin kids have all enjoyed it and were looking forward to an even gender split in a litter to be born so we could use the names of the royal couples.
