5 Weeks 2 Days & Visits This Weekend, June 1

This group of pups has us quite smitten! They love to play, though they are so gentle in their play. Families will be coming tomorrow to pick their forever fur babies. How did 5 weeks already go by??

Playful Pups, May 31

Pups have visits this weekend....I would say they are ready to meet their forever families!  These guys.....crack me up!

Puppy Pile, May 2

While momma was out and I cleaned their pen, the pups formed the most adorable puppy pile!  So I had to take pictures, of course!!  :-)  Pups are one week today.

Names Chosen & First Photo Shoot, April 28

My boys love to help in selecting name themes for our pups.......before Starla's pups arrived my oldest son, Tyler said "wouldn't it be cool if we could name her pups after Miniforce?" (one of his current favorite shows).  Well, it just so happened that Starla obliged and gave us the necessary pups for character / puppy ratio.  :-)

Pups names are: Volt, Max, Sammy, Lucy, Ray and Hawk.

Volt - Blue Squirrel Ranger (male, apricot w/ white markings)

Max - Yellow Beaver Ranger (male, apricot w/ white markings)

Sammy - Red Owl Ranger (female, apricot w/ white markings)

Lucy - Pink Fox Ranger (female, apricot w/ white markings)

Ray - Black Ranger (male, apricot w/ white markings)

Hawk - Green Ranger (male, apricot w/ white markings)

Welcome Little Ones! April 25

Starla's pups decided to come a few days early.  Starla had a beautiful litter of 6 apricot (4 male and 2 female, all with white markings) pups.  Momma is doing fantastic - nursing, snuggling and caring for her little babes.

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder.
