6 Weeks & Families Counting Down the Days, Dec 12

I'm not sure if it's because Christmas is so quickly approaching or what.....but the time we have with these cuties seems to be FLYING by.  At 6 weeks we are enjoying holding and snuggling Summer's pups, as well as playing with many toys (balls in all colors and sizes, squeeky toys, crinkle toys, dinosaur shaped bones, etc).  

So excited!  The pups are sporting wonderful scarves from www.cooperlovessophie.com.  Cooper and Sophie belong to Sue C. a DH momma of 2 DH cockapoos (Cooper and Sophie). Thanks Sue, they look amazing!!

Snuggly Saturday, Novmber 23

Drew (5) and Reid (3) asked if they could read to the pups.....they set up their special Grandma blanket, grabbed stacks of books, and settled in to snuggle and read.  I love that my boys include the puppies in their day to day play!

3 Weeks 2 Days, November 21

Summer is doing so good as a first time momma.  She loves to snuggle with her babies and is rather proud of their cuteness (and likes to watch us when we hold them).  The pups have opened their eyes, have begun to take their first wobbly steps, and have also found their voice (it's a cute purr).  
Since the pups were born a couple days before Halloween, candy was on our mind.  And since momma is a beautiful chocolate color - we opted for a chocolate theme.

Welcome Little Ones, Tuesday, October 29

Summer welcomed her first litter.  Momma did a fantastic job and whelped 6 puppies in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.  Summer had 4 chocolates (2 male, 2 female) and 2 cream (1 male, 1 female).  They are great - gaining weight wonderfully, eating like champs, snuggling with momma and my kiddos.  Life is so sweet with pups.

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home.
