Indian Spring?! 2.23.22
It was SO warm and beautiful outside today, it was perfect for an outing for the puppies! Add some cousins plus some friends coming for a visit, and it was the recipe for a perfect (and tiring!) day for Thor and the other Super Marvelous Pups.
Just look at Thor's perfect heart-shaped nose!!! He's a big boy; 6 lb, 4 oz!
Groundhog Day! 2.2.22
Apparently that silly groundhog saw his shadow. But Thor doesn't mind if that means there's 6 more weeks of snuggling in his future!
Thor - 3lb, 14oz - will be joining his Dutch Haven brother Tedy in North Reading, MA! Looks like Thor may be renamed Luca by his human big sister!
Chilling with Abraham 1.24.22
Thor's eyes are officially open, but not for long! He couldn't quite stay awake and watch Abraham play Minecraft on his tablet. After all, when you're snuggled up on the couch near your warm mommy a nap is almost inevitable!
Happy New Year! Sunday, January 2
We're so happy to announce Sweetie has had her very first puppy! She's been a loving "auntie" many times over, and this time it was finally her turn!
Throughout her pregnancy, we made sure to pamper her with vitamins and lots of belly rubs! During her ultrasound and x-ray examinations we were surprised to see that she only had one puppy. But the timing worked out perfectly with Cupcake's and Buttercup's litters that this little one wouldn't be an "only child" but instead grow up with lots of other "cousins" to play with!
As her due date approached, the veterinarian warned us that she might have trouble getting labor started - the fewer puppies vying for room in the womb, the less hormones released and fewer contractions. We scheduled a consultation for January 2, and one last ultrasound. Puppy looked ready to go, and quite plump!
Sweetie had a non-eventful c-section to help with her little giant puppy, who turned out to be a beautiful buff boy! He tipped the scales at 11 ounces at birth! (For comparison, most of our cockapoos are between 6-9 ounces!) He has been growing steadily and already loves snuggling with Cupcake's two babies for milk-sharing visits. (He's not much smaller than them, even though he's a week younger!)
In keeping with our Super Marvelous Puppies name theme, this little one shall be named Thor (the god of thunder, son of Odin, ruler of Asgard). Thor is a pale buff color, but he also has visible white markings - forehead star, chest, and paws.
