Willow + Leo = Chocolate! September 30, 2023

Our lovely, ever-happy Willow-girl welcomed 8 beautiful pups into the world right on her due date, Saturday, September 30th. Just like last time, Willow delivered her pups with ease and a perfect mothering instinct. Even with a big litter, all of her pups are very healthy sized and getting nice and plump under Willow’s care!

Here at the McLaughlin house, we love getting our community involved with puppy raising. Several 7th/8th grade girls have shown a lot of passion for puppy raising and training, and have assisted with a few births in the past. This year, we were able to let them take an even more active role, and they attended Willow all throughout her early stages of labor until all her puppies were born, under our guidance and supervision of course! Because of all their help, they got to choose the name theme for this litter. So, please welcome Willow’s Farm pups!

Having been Lab lovers for 50 years, our decision to have a small dog was not easy. Little did we know that Lucy would waltz into our lives and bring such joy, that it is difficult to imagine life without her. At 5 months she is a bundle of energy, loves people and dogs, and is intensely curious about everything, except big, noisy trucks. Lucy's transition to our home was made easy due to the care she received by Lydia of Dutch Haven Dogs. Murphy, the stuffed dog with a beating heart, came with Lucy, and can still be found each morning cuddled underneath her. Lucy has slept through the night all but the first 2 nights with us. The written routine given to us helped to get us through those first unknown weeks. Included in the pages of information given to us were tips about personality, behavior, and care. I remember Lydia telling us when we came to get Lucy, that she massaged the puppies' paws and ears daily so that they were used to being touched. To this day, it is part of my "loving" routine. We absolutely LOVED our experience with Dutch Haven! My favorite part is that the puppies are so well loved by the Groen family before they are ready to go to their new homes. Lydia Groen is so thorough with her communications and so helpful! The puppy selection process was also very well done. Getting my dog from Dutch Haven was the best experience I could imagine. We got Dublin 6 years ago and I still think of the first time I contacted Dutch Haven to picking him out to bringing him home. The process was seamless. I happily waited 9 months for my puppy knowing he was coming from a loving, healthy family breeder. We were kept updated about our place on the waitlist, and photos were shared once our litter was born.
