So grown up and sophisticated!
Okay, so maybe sophisticated is not exactly the right adjective for the roly poly bouncy pouncy playful and sometimes mischievous puppies these little guys have grown into :-) But they look so cute in their little bows! The pups have a big week ahead of them as they prepare to join their new families. We are so pleased for them but will definitely be sad to see them go.
Wendy Darling - new name is Jett, living in Vassalboro, ME
Peter Pan - his new home is in Scarborough, ME
Tiger Lily - now going by Lily in Canton, MA
Michael Darling - renamed Charlie and living in Boston, MA
Captain Hook - is now Brody, of Merrimack, NH
Tootles - new name Murray, new home Derby, CT
Tinkerbell - renamed Ruby, living in Brighton, MA
John Darling - now Arlo of Round Pond, ME
Already 6 weeks old! July 31
Four Week Check-in July 14
We gave the pups their first experience with "grown-up" food today! Of course it was just a thin, formula-style supplement but it was their first try at lapping rather than sucking. John Darling was the first to catch on and the rest quickly followed suit. There was much smacking and slurping as the treat met with universal approval!
My sister and parents came over later and we had an official "glamour shot" session with the pups. It's so fun seeing how much more alert and grownup the pups are looking now! But I realized when I started working with the photos that it would have been a better idea to do the photo shoot first and THEN give them the formula - you can see dried formula on a number of chins. And ears. And paws... Next new experience coming soon: BATH TIME!
Meanwhile, the pups are continuing to grow! Starting with the smallest:

Two Weeks Old! June 30
The puppies are two weeks old and have just started to open their eyes. That being said, as you'll see in the photos they mostly keep them closed because they'd rather be sleeping!

Mya's Pups are here, born Tuesday, June 16, 2015
Mya is a champion in my book! She brought eight beautiful, healthy puppies into our home on Tuesday morning and is doing a great job keeping them all warm, fed, happy, and loved. Three girls and five boys in a variety of colors and they're all thriving and looking great! Mya almost never leaves the puppies' sides and from their fat sides and sleek coats you can tell they're getting everything they need.
Thanks to Jack's recent passion for Peter Pan (after an enraptured experience seeing his Aunt's high school performance), these puppies are named in honor of many of J.M. Barrie's characters.
- Captain Hook - large, extra sleek black male with brown paws, white goatee, white on chest.
- John Darling - large black male with brown paws, white on chin and chest.
- Wendy Darling - medium black female with an especially curly coat, brown paws, white on chin & chest.
- Michael Darling - medium black male with lots of brown on paws, white chin & chest.
- Peter Pan - light apricot male with very curly coat and white heart on forehead, light streak on back.
- Tinkerbell - small black female with hint of brown on paws, white smudge on chin, white on chest.
- Tiger Lily - medium black female with hint of brown and white on paws, white chin, smudge of white chest.
- Tootles - solid apricot male, white chin.
For the comfort of the puppies I took these photos under a heat lamp and unfortunately didn't realize how much it was affecting my camera's focus and color balance until too late. More and better pics to come soon!
